Rivera International Litercy Association Newsletter Weekly Project: Effective Literacy Website #1 ABCmouse is a site that offers supplemental activities in literacy, math, science, health, social studies, arts, and music. An excellent resource, ABC mouse, is a free subscription for all teachers to use at school and add to the curriculum. If you are a teacher and you want to give it a try, all you have to do to get started is to sign up for a free subscription, and you will be on your way to fun learning for your students. ABCmouse.com’s reading curriculum spans the entire range of early reading, from learning the names of each letter and the sounds they represent to being able to read books, starting with a few words on a page and gradually advancing to paragraphs. The curriculum for first grade also includes writing and language skills, such as sentence structure and punctuation, parts of speech, and practice with writing genres. ABCmouse is a standards-based program that offers hundreds of lessons and thousands of learning activities for students. The Step-by-Step Learning Path gives students access to the ABCmouse curriculum in a set sequence. With ten levels of content, students as young as two years old can use the resources provided by ABCmouse. ABCmouse is an award-winning educational program designed for kid ages between two years old to eight years old. It was launched in 2016 with more than 10,000 activities, covers multiple categories and offers a step-by-step curriculum developed by teachers and educational professionals. Once you sign up, you or your child can create an avatar. This will always be a fun and creative experience for the child. After customizing his avatar, your kid can begin learning.      Thank you, Dr. Rivera and to my classmates for making the learning experience in class enjoyable and worthwhile. I appreciate all the information shared online, email, and on text.  This class has made teaching with technology less daunting and challenging as we face a new level of technology-literate learners.  Even old dogs (like myself) are still able to learn new tricks.      Good luck to everyone as we continue to move forward with the Program. However, parents and teachers can sign up for free accounts to monitor the progress of their child or students. Parents can sign up for a 6 month subscription of $44.99 for the Premium Family account, which gives parents complete mobile access, access to link up to 5 devices, ad free experience, ability to save favorite games, set a timer, control game category, and access to worksheets, activity pages and teacher resources. The Premium Teacher account gives teachers the same features, but up to 30 devices can be linked for an annual subscription of $69.99. ABCYa! ranges from Kindergarten to 6th grade.
