Effective Literacy Website # 4

Belinda Lynn Welles ED638 fall 2022 Dr. M. Rivera Effective Literacy Website Review #4 Starfall Starfall https://www.starfall.com/h/index-kindergarten.php started in September 2002. It has been a free public service to teach children to read. The home page provides two tabs into activities for Kindergarten and pre-k, and the other one for grades 1, 2, and 3. Since its open, it has grown to include language arts and mathematics for preschool to third grade. Starfall focuses on phonemic awareness, systematic sequential phonics, and common sight words in conjunction with audiovisual interactivity and it has proven to have effective resources for teaching emergent readers. The parent- teacher center on the menu bar has multiple free printout activities and lesson plans for grades 1-3 math that are also free. I especially like that Starfall activities are align with the Common Core State Standards in English language arts and mathematics. I have shared to several friends of mine about this resource. Along with the activities, Starfall also emphasizes exploration, playing, singing and positive reinforcement—encouraging children to grow confident and intrinsically motivated. Starfall should be mine and your educational alternative choices of entertainment because it is guaranteed effective for any state of education. It is widely used in schools that serve children with special needs and learning difficulties. Starfall has a low-cost membership program that expands the free content to include animated songs, mathematics, and reading activities spanning K-3. I recommend anybody who is interested to apply membership, because it supports the production of new books, songs, educational games, and movies for.
